Josephine Nsaful is a General Surgeon with special interest in breast cancer treatment and a member of the breast cancer multidisciplinary team. She works at the breast unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Apart from her busy clinical schedule she lectures medical students and is a trainer of surgical trainees. Josephine is involved in breast cancer and general surgical research and has publications to her name. She is consistently updating her knowledge and clinical skills to improve the quality of care to her patients.
She is one of the few female surgeons I Ghana, and had to go through five years of rigorous surgical training rubbing shoulders with male counterparts whilst juggling this with raising a young family. The love of surgery and sheer determination kept her spirits up but that was not without frustrations, sleepless nights and making certain sacrifices. Josephine is married and a mother of three who has always believed that a woman can have it all; a career, a happy home and a deep relationship with God.
